A Dose Of Rock & Roll should have been just as big of a hit as It Don't Come Easy, Photograph & No No Song. Rotogravure is a mediocre album & the first of his downward spiral as an artist at the time. ADORAR is a great song with Ringo's personality all over it but it never caught on for some reason.

I bloody love Ringo's Rotogravure on which "A Dose Of Rock An Roll appears! I actually think the downward spiral started with "Ringo 4th" and "Bad Boy"! So many good tracks on Rotogravure, the best of which were written by former Fabs! I especially like "Pure Gold", "I'll Always Love You", "A Dose Of Rock And Roll", "You Don't Know Me" and "Cookin'". AND, as I've said MANY times before, "Spooky Weirdness" totally freaked me out when I first heard it - but I was only 10 at the time!!

I've heard John's demo of "Cookin,'" but that's it. Have to go look for this one, then.

Yeah, me too. I have downloaded the entire Ringo catalogue once (it was over 1 GB!), so it's on the harddisc somewhere.

I really like the sleeve. It opens out and there are a load of pictures of Ringo with various people, including John and Paul, sadly not together. On the back of the sleeve is a photo of the Apple door, which is covered in graffiti from all over the world urging The Beatles to get back together. At that time it was still a possibility.

And don't forget that cute little magnifying glass you got in early pressings. Our mother said it helped to read the graffiti on the door! But the album is a fairly irrelevant piece, really. The most exciting track - A Dose Of Rock N Roll - does plod a bid to our ears.
