I think they deserve a thread of their own. I think they're highly underrated. At least in the US. Are they more revered in other countries? Were they huge over there in the seventies? Because they really didn't hit big here until Combat Rock. Which really isn't very reflective of what they were doing earlier. Then they split so it was a short reign.

The Clash were arguably more influential than the Sex Pistols. They were diverse and never boring in my opinion. Love them a lot.

The Clash are one of the greatest punk rock bands of all time, without a doubt. They had more balls politically in their music than the overrated U2 have had their whole career.

The Clash were arguably more influential than the Sex Pistols. I think so. The Pistols had the hype (thanks to Malcom McLaren's cheerfully contrived media outrage), but The Clash had real style and better material. PiL's Metal Box is better than anything the Pistols did, but it's still no match for The Clash's debut album (UK version, please) or London Calling..
