Hi everyone! There are two ideas on the table for this year's Beatle Forum meet-up on Saturday 29th August - so please use your vote to decide where you would like to meet up with your fellow forum members! OPTION 1Rob has come up with a great idea for a Ferry Across The Mersey - full details can be found here: beatleforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=beatleweek&action=display&thread=1263OPTION 2The second option is to meet in The Grapes at 12:00 midday - have a few drinks in there, then at aprox 1:00 pm make our way to the Caven Pub. Now it's up to you! VOTE NOW!

Ooo! We have to vote! I vote for my idea! Just to tidy this up, benefits of a ferry cruise: • Experience one of the most famous ferry crossing in the world, an icon linked with the success of the Merseybeat pop music era. • Visit the Pier Head (there was a famous shot of The Beatles there, I can't find it on-line). • Meet and greet fans from this forum in comfort and be able to have a conversation without shouting over loud music! • Ferries are licenced to serve alcohol and light snacks will be available. • Visit Liverpool's superb new canal link at the Pier Head. • Visit the new Beatles Story Museum at the Mersey Ferry terminal, if only to look around the gift shop (admission charges apply to exhibitions such as The Fab 4-D) • View Liverpool, the city The Beatles loved so much (expect Ringo ) from the river and experience the vista that is the famous waterfront with architecture old and new. It's one way of seeing major attractions in the city centre in one go.• From 11.50am people are free to go to The Cavern Quarter, or embark on pre-paid IBW events. • Adults Cost £6.30. Round trip, duration is 50 minutes. Attractions are available at The Wirral terminals - Spaceport (Seacombe) and The U Boat Story (Woodside). Additional costs apply. More info: www.merseyferries.co.uk/...AND! We HAVE to have a beatleforum.com sing-long of "Ferry 'cross The Mersey" at the end of the trip!

Count me out- too much "beatle-week" related posts on this forum. Sorry guys. I'll be back when this Beatle-week-thing is finally over.

too much "beatle-week" related posts on this forum. Isn't that why we exist? In order to look forward to the biggest event on a Beatle Fans' calendar?

Yeah, I know, but not everybody is going to the Beatle-week. I try to avoid these topics but when viewing "last 20 posts" it's all about this Beatle week.
Have fun anyway.

Would love to meet up with you guys in person and have a chat and a beer so my vote is definitely for the Grapes/Cavern Pub. I can't see the Ferry Cross the Mersey and site seeing being the right vehicle for that. It's a good idea but not for me.

As for meeting up at 11.00 am in The Grapes, as far as I know The Grapes only opens at 12.00. I will go and ask whether they will open an hour earlier during Beatleweek.

Both purposes are great, so I will be happy with the decision of the majority (even when I only have 7 days to find a 60´s sailor dress, ja, ja).
If someone is interested in meeting up before Saturday, some Spanish people will be there before, let me know

Just walked past The Grapes in my lunchbreak (didn't go inside though) and opening hours are 12.00 - 2.00 am during the week and 12.00 - 3.00 am at weekends (so it says outside).

Thanks Wilf, I'll amend the meeting time So it's possible to do both, so long as folk can make it in time for an 11am ferry departure.

I think it might be a good idea to close the voting this coming Sunday as I wouldn't want people to miss out on the finalised details.
