I want to know why they're not more popular. I think they're brilliant. The music they put out was original and stands up to most stuff we love from the sixties era. What's wrong with people? Plus I think Albarn is a very gifted.

Difficult to say why they're not popular in the US. Too English? Don't know. They're very popular in Britain and Europe. Albarn is indeed one of the great British songwriters, though most people don't realise it yet. I think in years to come he will be ranked alongside the like of Ray Davies.
I had the pleasure of seeing the last performance of The Good, The Bad, And The Queen on Sunday. Excellent band, shame they're not going to do more, but that may have something to do with Graham Coxon rejoining Blur.

I'll never understand the too English thing. Is Nirvana too American for Brits to get? Or the Beach Boys for that matter? What does that mean too English? Good music is good music. I think people are just into crap these days. His Gorillazs thing seemed to work out pretty well. I guess that's more of what people want anymore.

I've been into Blur for many years (since Modern Life Is Rubbish) - I have no idea why I have never seen them live but I will remedy that when they reform the original line-up! I have all Blur's albums but I prefer the earlier stuff - their first 3 albums are absolute classics in my opinion!

Are they reforming? I have no idea what's up with them. I hope they come here. I gotta see Damon Albarn up close. I just gotta! He's even prettier than Paul.

I love Parklife, especially the title song. 'I got up when I want except on Tuesdays when I get rudely awakened by the dustman'.

they were my first fave band as a band from the first time i heard them i had to buy everything they had made before and after, i bought there 10 years anniversary box when it came out £100 odd pounds at the time, and i went through a stage wanting to be albarn then coxon. They're still one of my fav bands to this day and when coxon returns hopefully they can reclaim the best band in Britain spot as they new bands just dont have what it takes coxon solo stuff was great for the first few album but his last two were a bit off, blur think tank was good but it badly missed coxon's guitar work, as stephen street said "Working with Graham Coxon, it began to dawn that I had met the best guitarist I'd worked with since Johnny Marr. I rate him as the best guitarist around. He plays things Johnny wouldn't even think of." fave blur albums in order : Blur, Modern life is rubbish, 13, the great escape, parklife, think tank, leisure

Is there some sort of timeline on when their new stuff is coming out? I'm excited. Have they ever said anything about the Beatles being an influence? They don't sound influenced by them. I hear more influence from the likes of Ray Davies, Bowie, Syd Barrett, or even Townshend. But I don't really know all their stuff. I know Albarn has insulted McCartney on occasion in interviews. I can't remember what I read last but it wasn't kind.
I love this video. Great song too!

i think they were influenced by the beatles and have mentioned therm in some nme interviews at some time just not sure when, i read an interview with there guitarist coxon. his favourite beatles album is rubber soul and abbey road and heres some things he said: Q) why abbey road A)"Because it came out in the year I was born - 1969. Also, they had got through their problems with The White Album and Let It Be and this was a really good goal after two deflections. What makes me think a lot about the Beatles, and English 1960s people in general, is the way they expressed a blackness and a soul in their singing. And McCartney's singing is pretty amazing, much better than Lennon's." Q) Favourite beatle ? A)"McCartney was just as into the avant-garde and so on, but he was exploring it rather than mouthing off about it. I think he was more sorted than John, who comes across as a bitter arsehole most of the time. But Paul does put his thumbs up too much." also if you really wanna see some cool blur live stuff or interviews etc.... www.blurcast.tvTrust me it has everything and at good qaulity

Saw an advertisement for a show called the Seven Ages of Rock and apparently Blur and Oasis are British Indie. What?? I thought they were Brit Pop!? Indie? Not even. Is this a new term or were they called that all along? They're calling Nirvana and Pearl Jam alternative, but that IS what they were called when they first came out. The grunge label came later. I just find it funny to call Oasis and Blur Indie music. Nothing indie about them. But anyway, I can't wait to see this program.
