Update: no, I didn't forget. I 'digitalized' the songs yesterday, I hope I'll be able to e-mail them this evening or tomorrow!

I like the Hollies and Zombies a lot.
Thing about the Hollies, either they were out of tune a lot, or the tapes had a lot of variation in speed when they were put on CD! Still, nice songs.

Tough decision for me...I pretty much like them all. I love British bands. They are awesome. Although I must say i am not much of a Rolling Stone or The Who fan. Those are about the only two i'm not crazy about.

I really love the early Who and recently bought the deluxe version of their first album, My Generation, which contains decent stereo mixes of the album plus a bonus CD of unreleased tracks, out-takes and remixes. Can't Explain sounds bloody amazing - the stereo mix has lost none of the punch. I'll upload it here later

The Kinks, because they're overlooked in my part of the world. The Small Faces deserve a vote too, really.

Given the poll choices, it's the Who for me. But I have major love for the Zombies, Them, and the Yardbirds -- as well as the Hollies and the Kinks.
Can't forget Cream either, they're in the Sixties British band category (although I suspect the point here is more "British Invasion" than later Sixties...)
(Although they hailed from Australia, the Bee Gees were widely perceived at the time as an English band, and they're a big fave of mine too -- them and fellow Aussies Manfred Mann.)

Voted for the kinks. Oh I love the yardbirds. They also had 3 great guitarist who got all famous when they left the Yardbirds. I remember that Jimmy Page once said that they lived in the same area.

I was all tie up between The Who and The Kinks. Only by the skin of my teeth I went for the Kinks, probably because they still had their instruments intact for their next show. But what about the other great bands. This is my list, in order after the Beatles.
The Kinks The Searchers The Who The Hollies The Yardbirds Gerry and the Pacemakers The Moody Blues Cream Rolling Stones The Animals Swinging Blue Jeans Manfred Mann The Zombies The Small Faces Dave Clark Five
With a special mention for non-UK bands The Easybeats, The Seekers, and The Byrds.

Some great bands there! I was surprised to see The Small Faces so far down the list though - below Gerry and the Pacemakers?! LOL I don't know much about the Easybeats, apart from the fact that they're Australian and recorded one of my all-time favourite songs - Friday On My Mind!

I voted for the Who but the Stones and the Kinks were strong contenders. I'd also add Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich to the list!

LOL I don't know much about the Easybeats, apart from the fact that they're Australian and recorded one of my all-time favourite songs - Friday On My Mind! Yeah, I don't mind The Small Faces. But Gerry & the Pacemakers had some of my fave tracks, such as "Ferry Across The Mersey", and "You'll Never Walk Alone". Plus, they had that fab Mersey sound. The Easybeats had a string of Australian hits in the mid-60's, such as "She's So Fine", "Wedding Ring", "Easy As Can Be", "Women", "I'll Make You Happy", and "Sorry", all released before "Friday On My Mind" made it big in the UK in 67.
