Excluding The Beatles of course! For me, I'd have to say it's a two horse race between The Rolling Stones and The Kinks. However, The Kinks are never off my stereo at the moment! So, for the time being, it's Herman's Hermits!!! The Kinks

I must admit I do like No Milk Today by Herman's Hermits and for a long time I thought it was the ultimate sixties song! lol. Me likes The Hollies too, although they're a complete Beatles rip-off of course. For originality, The Kinks got my vote.

Hmmm, you can't edit polls. That's a nuisance!

i love the way the later moody blues had the powerful orchestrated bits in their songs.....i use to have the who way up there but now the moodys are up there...i do love early stones b4 they got more poppy....dave clark seems like teeny boppers music now but they use to pump out some good danceable tunes...the hollies were always too soft for my main tastes....the kinks remained listenable thru their career....the small faces? ???out of place i think on this poll....

I really like cheesy music from the 60's and 70's. Some friends of mine in London used to have a band called The Deptford Draylons, they used to play all that stuff. Brilliant. The lead singer used to wear a feather boa to do a Shirley Bassey number!!

Anyone familiar with Warm Sounds? They made just three singles before calling it a day... Luckily I own their first two singles, really great stuff. Only their first single, "Birds And Bees", was a minor hit, the other two were flops. But "Birds And Bees" is IMO the most criminally underrated song in pop history. It's as good as any classic from that era. I think it sounds a bit like "Happy Together" by The Turtles, but even better.

Never heard of them - but now I REALLY would like to hear them! Any chance you might have the tracks on mp3 that you could email to me?

I have Birds & Bees on my iTunes, the other ones only on vinyl. I'll see if I can somehow upload them in the weekend, OK?
